The history of queer life in Scotland over the past 100 years is woefully under-represented. This site was an attempt to explore queer Scottish history, and to offer hitherto hidden lives and voices an opportunity to make themselves heard. We’re not terribly good at doing LGBT history in Scotland. The blog posts offer an insight into queer life in historic Scotland, and the LGBT maps of Scotland chart the development of covert and overt queer spaces.
I’m keen to add more voices and experiences to the website, so if you have any stories to tell, or photographs to share, then do get in touch with me. These might relate to your days on the ‘scene’, the places and space you navigated. You might also want to send me your places and spaces to add to the LGBT historical maps.
So, do get in touch!
